Somebody Was Here!

An interesting observation this morning. There are presents under the tree. Aaron assures me that she didn't put them there and I am not one to call her a liar. So I can only assume that Santa Clause was here last night. My only problem with that is that we don't have a chimney. The only option he would have left for himself would have been to use the cold air intake ducts. Also, I had my new Akon album playing last night. This morning that sheyt is missing! Now, I ain't pointing no fingers, just pointing out facts. But next year I'm setting leg-hold traps in the air ducts! Merry Christmas all.

The Social Grinch

Every Who up in the Hills loved to hang-out and gossip a lot. But Spencer Pratt, who was Heidi's boyfriend, quite rudely would not!
Spencer hated hanging out. He kept Heidi to himself for the entire season. Now, don't ask me why. No one quite knows the reason.
It could be that his head wasn't screwed on quite right. It could be, perhaps, that his shoes were too tight. But I think that the most likely reason of all,
may have been that his heart was two sizes too small!
Now, throughout the season he tried to keep Heidi out of sight. And all the Who's kept telling him to not be so uptight.
Then came the season finale where Heidi and Spence,
stood to make it legal. The room was so tense!
He had puzzled for hours 'till his puzzler was sore. Then Spencer thought of something he hadn't before,
"Maybe true love," he thought, "doesn't have to be such a chore. Maybe true love... perhaps... means a little bit more!"
And what happened then? Well, in the Hills they say,
that Spencer's little heart grew three sizes that day!
And the minute his heart didn't feel so tight,
we all could see his love for Heidi had reached a new height!

Musing about Religion

They tell us it is not polite to discuss religion, politics, or money. So let's start with religion. Here's a great website for those who like intellectual discussion: http://www.peterkreeft.com/. Only remember that it is essential that our priorities lay in experiencing God over merely knowing facts about Him. Here's a thought to start with: how can an ordinary person choose, on their own, the truth through all that the world offers amidst conflicting beliefs, doctrines, rules and regulations, churches, temples, holy books, etc? Definitely a relevant question. The truth is all religions have good in them- otherwise we wouldn't believe in them. The way I see it there are really only two choices before us. One, we can choose to save ourselves through following a religion of our choosing. Follow it's teachings wholeheartedly and believe you are on the right path toward whatever your final hope. Two, you can choose to have a saviour. In choosing a saviour you put all your hope for salvation/betterment/enlightenment in him. That said, only Christianity offers a saviour. All other world religions offer us set principles and ethics to follow for ourselves. Either of the two choices we choose require faith. So we can put our faith in a do-it-yourself religion or in a saviour-religion. Also, I think there is no neutral ground in this thought. For to disregard both choices is to fall into the do-it-yourself category, where you still need faith to believe that neither choices relate to you and your life. Essentially, you create a little religion of your own. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

Easy Atlantic Chowder

Here's a great recipe I think you'll enjoy. Easy to make and quick. One of my favorite chowders. Don't say I never did anything for you! Ha, enjoy.

Are children involed?! No, not this time. Phew!

Did you hear? Michael Jackson is dying. Sounds like he needs a lung transplant and has internal bleeding of some sort. Honestly, it's not affecting me in anyway. Just thought I'd post it to let others know. But maybe the records I own of his might go up in value if he dies? That sounds awfully morbid. Hopefully, my dad didn't throw them out of the garage yet. But I guess he would be missed. So many fans have been touched by his music and his hands. He is the embodiment of the American dream, though. Only in America can a poor black boy grow-up to be a rich white women.

-30? Not bad.

This is just nuts. The coldest place on earth is in Russia. This small village called Oymyakon, closes school only when it reaches -52 celcius. Otherwise the kids play outside! They say birds die in mid- flight! For the record, at -60 celcius, spit freezes before it hits the ground. You shouldn't be spitting to begin with but that is cold. Now, Calgary's been having -30 temps for the last week. I guess we shouldn't complain. And who the heyl is this guy?!

Congratulations Emily, on your recent knocking-up

Just found out yesterday that my sister Emily is pregos. Congratulations, I just announced it to the world via internet! Lucky for you Emmy, nobody looks at my blog. Literally, no... one. That sad fact is overshadowed by your good news. And once again, don't name the child Bilbo Baggins.
